CincyDominos.com Donates
free pizza to Kicks For Kids
for Career Day
A CincyDominos.com Press Release
August 27th, 2008
Today, John Glass, owner of Glass Family Pizza and member of the CincyDominos.com cooperative, delivered a donation of free pizza, to Kicks For Kids (KFK) in the boardroom of Local 12, WKRC, TV. The donation was a part of the Kicks For Kids Career Day.
The KFK Career Program provides local children we serve with the chance to learn about a variety of professions. By allowing them to visit the work site, meet the employees and engage in activities, they gain exposure to a professional environment and the hard work that is involved. The kids also learn that education is imperative in order to secure these jobs.
This year, a group of ten children visited Local 12, and got to meet TV personalities, such as anchor Cammy Dierking, sports anchor Tara Pachmayer, as well as Jennifer Dalton. The children were from Hamilton, OH and Dayton, KY.
Kicks For Kids was founded in 1995 by Doug Pelfrey, the Cincinnati Bengals' kicker from 1993-1999 and second leading scorer. A "hometown guy" who starred at the University of Kentucky, Doug started the charity as a result of his passion to help kids and his commitment to the community in which he lives. Jim Breech, the Bengals' all-time scoring leader who played at Cal and with the Raiders before kicking in Cincinnati from 1980-1992, has served on KFK's Board since 1996. Shayne Graham, a Virginia Tech graduate and former member of the Bills and Panthers, is the Bengals' present kicker and the first to be named to the Pro Bowl (2005). He joined KFK's Board in May of 2005.
CincyDominos.com is a cooperative of the Domino's Pizza franchisees in the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and South Eastern Indiana area. Brought together to leverage economies of scale and to bring consistent value and customer experience to the areas residents, the franchisees launched CincyDominos.com to extend the reach of their efforts.
